Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions

Your Neighbourhood Bar & Grill Meets 70's Vintage Shop

It’s a restaurant and bar. Wrapped up as a thrift store. In a heritage home redevelopment. It’s all sorts of fun, with a surprise around every corner.

It was pretty exciting to see Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions finally come to life this past fall. Team Pacific had been working with the owner, Cam Bogue, for a long time as he searched out the perfect place for his exciting new hospitality concept. And then he came across the Conwest HOUSS development. With two patios totalling 1,400 square feet, 24’ ceilings, almost 2,800 square feet of interior space, and the incorporation of the historic Coulter House as its focal point, Cam knew he had found his unicorn space.

Everything about Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is different, and that was the point. It was designed to be something that Vancouver had never seen before. It was intended to be wild, fun, and have things that people wouldn’t expect. Things like the open flame grill in the middle of the restaurant, with a main feature protein every day and a rotating menu. Or the “marketecture” approach of the decor itself, where the vintage items on display are actually for sale.

Rye Gonzalez of RNJ Interiors was at the helm of the interior design. She made the retro dream come to life with her colourful palette, iconic 70’s material choices, and unique space layout. Cam enlisted the help of Steen Jones, famed tattoo-inspired mural artist from Australia, to really make the space “pop!” with his massive wall art.

This space has a few unique features that our team loved the challenge of figuring out. The first was the open flame grill. Not many kitchens have this in Vancouver. It was amazing seeing it come together through concept to planning to execution, and we couldn’t be more “fired up” about the results. 😉 The second was the walnut wood back bar shelving. The retro style feature piece had to be made in pieces at our workshop and then assembled on site. We love how it came together and how it anchors the heart of the bar.

And now for the tasty stuff! Like tater tots and happy hour hot dogs served up alongside classic lunch kits JUST LIKE when you were a kid. Doesn’t get much better than that, right? Oh wait, yes it does – when you add a Crystal Clear Long Island Iced Tea to go with it.

Go check out Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions if you’re looking for somethin’ fresh to do – you’ll feel like a kid in a candy shop!
