Tacofino Gastown

From Tired Pub to Taco Paradise

Looking at Tacofino’s stunning Gastown location, it’s hard to imagine this was once a run-down, rickety old pub. But with some careful planning and creative collaboration, we transformed a dilapidated space into one of Vancouver’s hottest spots.

Modern and beautiful

Working alongside Tacofino’s in-house designer and an international design firm, our task was to modernize and beautify the space while maintaining the existing bones of the building. We also needed to accommodate a takeout side and a full service restaurant with only one main entrance in a narrow building.

“We wanted to create a space that people would want to spend time in.”

tacofino_1376This was a total group effort and we worked around the clock to get it finished in time. Collaborating with multiple designers, artists, suppliers and vendors, we oversaw and managed everything from custom lamp shades and furniture, to art installations and wall finishes. And we’ll never forget installing one of the craziest floors we’ve ever come across – a custom Vietnamese tile imported just for this project.

Tacofino is the definition of an “instagrammable” space. This once dodgy location has become a destination and we’re proud we could help bring it to life. We can’t take too much credit though. After all, they do make one fine fish burrito.
