We have a few folks here at Pacific who grew up playing sports in the Langley area. Getting the opportunity to build The Lodge Steakhouse, which is housed right inside the George Preston Recreation Centre, was like one of those childhood dreams come true. We always love when those heartstring moments happen.
The Lodge has a true “steakhouse” feel and is on track to become a community staple. Not only because of their location in the arena but also due to their locally focused program. Highlighting local businesses, including the Langley area wineries, is a top priority for The Lodge team. They even have a map on display where guests can see the close proximity of the wineries on the menu. The bright and beautiful wine racks are also a spotlight feature that showcases the extensive selection on the wine menu.
The space itself boasts high vaulted ceilings and massive windows, anchored with cozy booth seating to maintain that intimate dining room feel. A huge patio space provides the perfect outdoor dining experience and is complete with heaters and fireplaces for COVID-safe dining during the winter months. Working through the construction process during the pandemic allowed us to incorporate safety measures directly into the design and construction planning. For example, custom plexiglass dividers were built to perfectly match the design aesthetic by a local craftsperson. As with all Made by Pacific projects, teamwork played a critical role at The Lodge. Our friends at Acorn Wood Designs did an excellent job on the millwork construction. We need to also pay a shout out to the team at Small Services Electrical. Their forensic electrical work was outstanding in helping us understand the base building construction and meet the needs of the new space.
The Lodge is a new hospitality destination that aims to connect their guests with the historic roots of the Langley community. Check out the delicious menu offering here (oh, and did we mention THE WINE) and their Instagram account for a tasty looking preview before your visit.
