We continue to create custom pieces for local businesses and customers in our community. But we also wanted to come back to developing products that speak to our own, unique Pacific brand. As we continued to define ourselves through our online merging of Pacific Design Lab and Pacific Solutions Contracting (have you checked out the new MadeByPacific.com yet?), creating a new logo, and the entire brand refresh process, we came up with a furniture collection that speaks to our style, and our love for Vancouver.
Taking elements of Scandinavian design and West Coast inspiration, we created the Access Collection – a three-piece line complete with a soft palette maple wood with striking black accents.
The design was inspired by Vancouver living, which these days is characterized by small modern spaces in the city. We wanted to make furniture that works with the on-the-go lifestyle we’ve all seemed to adopt. By designing for intentional convenience for the entryway, we also wanted to provide our own definition of Vancouver style and what it means to live here.
The Access Collection encourages people to get outside and into their community for the spring/summer season. This theme of community goes beyond the inspiration and right into the line itself. Our collaboration with local leatherworker, Derrick Wong of DW Leatherworks, sees his classic leather elements incorporated into the design details such as the leather pouch in the Collect Console, and the hand-stitched cuff of the Branch Rack.
The full collection is now up in the webshop and in select online marketplaces (check out our friends at Kabuni and The Consortium!). If you’re more of a live, in-person shopper then feel free to swing by our Chinatown studio and try the pieces out for yourself. And stay tuned to our blog for some more details about the collection as we dive into each piece and where it came from.
Cheers!
