I must have been feeling extra #tbt’ish today while looking through old pictures, and then I realized we just passed our first birthday. Wow – we did it! Happy Birthday Pacific Design Lab!
Before we moved on to this next year I wanted to ensure we looked back at the last – to learn from, to appreciate, and to laugh at…because it was a good one! We met so many amazing folks, worked on some really exciting projects, and were inspired at every turn. While this definitely doesn’t cover the entire year, a quick snapshot will have to do for now.
Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane, shall we?
December 2013
Our “soft-launch” – although now that I look back we never had a “hard-launch” (?). Oops! We celebrated getting ourselves out there (that pic is of me publishing our new webshop), landing our first customers, and acquiring our new shop dog. Because really, every workshop needs a shop dog, right?! #thisisgeorgie
January to March 2014
We started doing some custom projects for commercial clientele, like the ultra-delicious Nook Restaurant and for the lovely gals at Nectar Juicery. Read more on the custom booth we also did for Nectar’s Holt Renfrew pop-up here!
May 2014
We thought it was time for some professional photos, and enlisted the help of Greg at Geipel Photography for some product shots and a little furniture photo-shoot in our Strathcona alleyway. We had a blast and ended up with a fantastic collection of pro shots. #highfives
Summer 2014
More awesome restaurant clientele to add to our roster! With the Vancouver food scene buzzing like it is, being able to work with top-notch spots like Meat & Bread, Earls Restaurant, and Railtown Cafe on some custom projects was a (tasty) treat!
Fall 2014
We found a stellar group of passionate entrepreneurs who love what they do and believe in beautiful, well-made goods. These top Vancouver shops carried a collection of Pacific Design Lab’s best-selling products, and we even did a custom range for one Main Street shop! More on our retailers can be found in this post.
Winter 2014
Pacific Design Lab hits the press! We were sooo excited to work with some incredible people who wanted to share our story, including the ever-lovely Erin Ireland of It’s To Die For (blog, radio, and CTV TV segment), the talented Foodess food blogger + photographer extraordinaire, and the Vancouver Sun – web, print, or read it on our blog here!
Kicking Off 2015 + Year Two
We’re excited about this next year and all of the things we want to accomplish, including more products, more collaborations, and more connections with people + companies doing really exciting things! If you’re one of them, let us know – we’d love to see what magic we can make together!
And of course, if you’re interested in seeing more of the projects and fun from year one you can always follow along on Facebook + Instagram. See you there!
