Completing an apprenticeship program takes commitment, dedication, and a passion for the trade. We are thrilled to congratulate TWO members of our team on their recent achievements in completing their joinery and carpentry apprenticeships and obtaining their red seal tickets this year.
Brad has been with Pacific for nearly 4 years now. He completed the schooling and hours requirements for his joinery apprenticeship a number of years ago at BCIT, but then he decided to try different industries to see if there might be a better career fit for him. When he realized woodworking was his passion and career path of choice, he joined Pacific in 2015 and took the final step in writing his joinery exam in 2019. We were proud to hand over his official red seal joinery ticket from the Industry Training Authority of British Columbia in January of this year.
Griffin is celebrating his one year anniversary with Pacific this week. Ever since his lego days Griffin knew that carpentry was the career path for him. He started his carpentry apprenticeship in 2014 in Hamilton, ON, taking a break halfway to travel and work, and then completed his apprenticeship over the past few years at BCIT. In early February it was official – Griffin was a ticketed Carpenter with his coveted certificate from the ITA.
Apprenticeships at Pacific
We are honoured to be able to support dedicated tradespeople committed to their education and furthering their career. We have approximately 4 apprentices at any given time within the company who are studying and working to complete their joinery or carpentry apprenticeships. We work with them in order to ensure they have everything they need to complete their program, including:
> Time off of work to complete their schooling blocks
> Experienced colleagues to learn from
> The hours needed to fill their work requirements
> Sign off on those hours
> A dynamic work environment with projects that are constantly changing
> Competitive wages
> Opportunities to grow (before, during, and after the completion of the apprenticeship)
