The Interior Design Show West (IDS West) shows never fail to impress! This year was no exception.
Held September 24th – 27th, this year’s show had representation from brands both large and small, artisans, interior designers, students, and retailers alike. Well-curated and thoughtfully laid out, walking through the show was like a fantastic visual journey as you’d pass through a few vendor booths only to find yourself in the midst of an expertly designed display or magical installation (a la the massive Caesarstone x Philippe Malouin swings!).
We were beyond thrilled to have been a part of this year’s event. Our good friends at Evoke International Design built an incredible space called Park Life, representing the intersection of buildings, construction, living and playing – how we all live in one big park. The space itself was also an intersection of collaboration, as different artists and companies all came together to create the thoughtfully designed + inviting space. Best of all – it was a bar! So not only could you come, relax, and enjoy, but you could also grab a tasty beer from Main Street Brewing.
Our piece to the puzzle was to build the bases for the bar tables. These were not regular bases though, they were intricately designed to be made from white oak dowels with super clean lines, beautiful angles, and most importantly – the strength of a gladiator as solid 400 lb concrete slabs were to sit upon them!
The results were gorgeous, and the 5 tables that came together with the work of the other talented artists really created some beautiful magic at the show. We won’t get into the details of what moving five 400 lb tables in and out of a convention centre entails – that’s another story we’ll save for another day. 😉
