The team at Mealshare is up to big things. Their mission is aimed at ending youth hunger across the globe, and they’ve found a way to make it easy for individuals to give back in their everyday lives. The concept is simple. You go out to eat at one of the nearly 500 Mealshare partner restaurants, order one of the Mealshare labeled items on the menu, and voila – they’ll provide a meal to a youth in need.
Mealshare Awards
Mealshare partners with many of the same restaurants that we work with so we’ve been following along with what they’ve been up to for a while now. We were excited when the opportunity came up to work together to produce custom serving board “awards” for their restaurant partners across the country. The point of the awards is to recognize partners who are making serious contributions to the program. We were happy to lend our skills to the cause, producing 40 boards to be sent to their engraving team and shipped out to their respective winners.
We are always trying to reduce our environmental footprint where we can. So we were stoked when the Mealshare team jumped on board with our idea to use a variety of leftover wood to produce the boards. Our millwork shop is often left with offcuts from the larger millwork projects, and by utilizing what we already had, we gave these pieces new life and reduced our waste. The result was a beautiful array of unique boards made from cherry, walnut, maple, ash and more – a stunning natural rainbow!
