From food trucks to pop-ups, entrepreneurs are finding creative ways to get their business off the ground in a way that is financially feasible. The beautifully designed Paragon Tea Room has taken it one stop further. A unique tea cafe that has opened within the existing Porto Cafe on the bustling Cambie corridor, Paragon Tea Room introduces tea lovers to an innovative experience in a spacious shared space.
We worked with the team at Haeccity Studio Architecture and the Paragon Tea Room owner, Michelle, to bring this space to life. The design and architecture team provided a beautiful design that included warm, natural earth tones contrasted with dark green tiles against a black backdrop. White quartz countertops and copper detailing provided a contemporary touch.
The primary challenge for this space was that we were working in an operating coffee shop. Porto Cafe was open for business every single day that construction took place. We sectioned off the workspace to keep construction contained and concealed, leaving us with a very small work area to construct the tea counter from the ground up. The design called for intricate details, such as unique angles within the millwork and chamfered edging on the countertops.
The end result is a social space that brings together two creative businesses with synergistic energies. Paragon Tea Room is a must-visit destination for tea lovers or for anyone who loves a well-made, hand-crafted beverage. The team at Paragon uses premium tea leaves and unique tea’spresso machines to make tea drinks unlike any other in the city. Trust us, the chai tea misto never disappoints!
