Summers on the west coast are seriously the best, and this one has truly been one for the books! Epic sunshine, warm weather, and beautiful summer evenings spent at a hot new Vancouver restaurant.
Team Pacific is (finally) catching their breath after a whirlwind few months getting these awesome new spots ready for your enjoyment. It was an all-hands-on-deck few months leading up through to July, but the results are prettttty damn worth it! Take a lil’ look through our list of at some of Vancouver’s newest (and hottest!) joints that have just opened this summer…
Fable Diner
We helped Chef Trevor Bird open up his second restaurant at the corner of Main & Broadway in the very hip, uber happenin’ Mount Pleasant area. A modern twist on the classic diner, the space is beautifully designed by the team at Evoke International Design and built for gatherings with their comfy booths and classic finishings. And with your favourite diner fare served up in innovative, fresh, and delicious ways, it is a must visit with your crew.
Fable Diner: 151 E Broadway @ Main Street, Mount Pleasant
Cartems Donuterie (Kitsilano)
Cartems has opened up their third, bountiful, donut-filled heaven on busy West Broadway in Kitsilano – and boy is it beautiful. Designed by FSOArk Architect Inc., the space is open, modern, and includes one-of-a-kind wall art from Ricky Alvarez of Tinto Creative. And of course, with donuts to blow your mind, you can actually visit Cartems every day and it never, ever gets old!
Cartems: 3040 W Broadway, Kitsilano
Bows x Arrows
In the thriving Fraserhood, Victoria-based Bows + Arrows have opened their first location in Vancouver and EVERYONE is excited! Their perfectly roasted coffee is, well, perfect. And as if that isn’t enough, their new location is open from the early am (coffee lovers rejoice!) all the way through to late night with fresh food, a full menu, and boozy drinks too. The space has been beautifully designed with a massive communal table for everyone to gather at their fave new all-day hang out spot.
Bows + Arrows Coffee Roasters: 4194 Fraser St @ 26th Ave
Juke Fried Chicken
Behind Juke is a dream-team trio made up of Cord Jarvie (Meat & Bread Co-Owner), Bryan Satterford (former Hawksworth Sous Chef) and Justin Tisdall (previous GM at Chambar), who united to open up a lively, welcoming fried chicken joint that gives you everything you need and more. Designed by Ply Architecture & Design, the ambiance is awesome with industrial elements and quirky branding twists c/o Glasfurd & Walker, the cocktails are ridiculous, the food is mouthwateringly delicious, and to boot – they have a take-out counter for ALL of your on-the-go fried-chicken needs. Helloooo backyard summer patio parties!
Juke: 182 Keefer Street @ Main Street, Chinatown
And just like that, summer is coming to an end and we’re on to the next round of restaurants for all you foodie lovers in the city. Stay tuned!
